Ummauerte Kleinstadt an der Costa Brava mit einer mittelalterlichen Altstadt und einen wunderschönen Strand.

Tossa de Mar ist ein historisches und kulturelles Zentrum an der Costa Brava Süd.

Das Stadtbild von Tossa de Mar ist von den fast komplett erhaltenen mittelalterlichen Stadtmauern und Wachttürmen aus dem 12. Jahrhundert geprägt. Bei einem Spaziergang durch das Innere der Altstadt Tossa, die Vila Vella, kann man viele wunderschöne Häuser und verwinkelte Gässchen entdecken.

Tossa de Mar ist aber nicht nur deshalb ein Besuchermagnet, es gibt weitaus mehr zu sehen: die schöne Burg, der Leuchtturm Far de Tossa, von wo aus man einen spektakulären Blick über die Steilküste und die Stadt Tossa de Mar hat und die Ruinen der spätgotischen Kirche Esglesia Vella de Sant Vicenç, vor deren Kulisse von Zeit zu Zeit Konzerte stattfinden.

Die Stadt bietet auch schöne Strände wie der vollkommen erschlossener, langgezogener Sandstrand Playa Gran (Stadtstrand von Tossa de Mar). Doch innerhalb der Stadtgrenzen von Tossa de Mar gibt es auch kleinere Strände: die direkt an den Hauptstrand angrenzende Playa Mar Menuda und der unterhalb der Mauern der Altstadt gelegene, windgeschützte Strand Cala Codolar.

Die Küste Tossa de Mars bietet sich auch zum Tauchen an.

In der Altstadt Tossa de Mar, an der Strandpromenade der Playa Gran und den nahegelegenen Gässchen gibt es zahlreiche gemütliche und hochwertige Restaurants mit traditioneller und moderner Küche.

Nachts bieten die beleuchtete Burg und Stadtmauer der Villa Vella Tossa eine äußerst romantische und zugleich atemberaubende Kulisse, die man am Besten von einer der Terrassen an der Strandpromenade oder direkt vom Strand aus genießen kann.
